Butterfly and cocoon recycled bottle cap earrings

Butterflies and cocoons are two of my favorite things to create. I love their symbolism and reminder that we are always evolving. I also love the reminder that at any given time we have the opportunity to recreate and transform ourselves into something else, something more beautiful. It's not easy and requires work, but the results are amazing and beautiful, just like the butterfly.
Made from recycled bottle caps, each one is a labor of love. The bottle cap is pounded out, filed down, scraped to ensure all or most of the glue is removed and then I paint designs on them with acrylic paint. I've added photos to show you my process in creating these little works of art for your lobes.
These bottle caps are painted with aqua, fluorescent orange, magenta and pink, blue, sap green, and gold acrylic paint. I have another variation of this particular earring. The bottle cap earrings have sterling silver ear wires and dangle about 2 inches. They come with earring backs for the ear wires although not pictured here. They are very light weight and are great to "mix and match".
